Pumpkin Patch

On Monday Marie-Eve had her first ever field trip. It was for the pumpkin patch rain or shine and it was raining. Went to the school at 8:15 and the bus took off shortly after 9. Stephane and I followed in our own car. It was so much fun even though we were wet and cold.
First we took a hay ride around the farm and to the pumpkin patch were the kids got to pick a pumpkin. Then to a maze made out of hay bales and to a little petting zoo. Finally finish up with a sack lunch. It was a good first field trip, just wish the weather was better. (Pictures aren't very good because they were from my phone. I didn't take my big camera since it was raining and didn't want to ruin it.)

All smiles for the hay ride.

Stephane also.
On our way to get a pumpkin.
Stephane had so much fun playing in the mud.
She had a hard time picking out a pumpkin because she didn't want one with mud on it. But ended up with mud on her hands anyway.
In the hay maze.
We finally made it through.
Petting the ducks.
The pigs were sleeping.
This calf just sat there while all the kids put their hands on him.

And the verdict is in

Today was the day that I've been looking forward to ever since I found out I was pregnant. I had an ultrasound and found out the gender of this baby that has been kicking around inside for 19 weeks. And the verdict is BOY!!! I am so glad since we had a boy name picked out and had no idea what we were going to name a little girl. We are so EXCITED!!!!

Fancy Nancy Party

This past Saturday we had Marie-Eve's 5th Birthday party. We had two girls over for a Fancy Nancy Tea Party.

With their tiaras they decorated themselves. Sarah, Marie-Eve and Natalie.

Painting her nails and putting jewels on.

Then they got rings, necklaces and boas.

Tea party time. Pinkies UP!!

Cake time.
Taught the girls how to sing Bon Fete (that's french and fancy for Happy Birthday)

Cheesy chocolate cake smiles.

It was so much fun to do this party for Marie-Eve. I thought I did pretty well for my first ever birthday party. I think I will do it again. And of course, Marie-Eve kept telling me it was the best birthday EVER!!

Marie-Eve's first day of Preschool

Today was Marie-Eve's first day of Preschool. She was so excited and talked about it for days. She had fun picking out her new outfit and how her hair was to be done. When it was time to leave her class she didn't want to leave. Marie-Eve is enjoying telling everyone what she did at school and can't wait to go back. The buses couldn't take the kids today because they didn't have the badges for the kids today. Hopefully they will have it for Thursday because she was disappointed she didn't get to ride today.

All dressed and ready to go.

New backpack.

Finding her hook to hang her backpack and jacket.

Sitting in her seat and making a funny face.

Stephane's first real hair cut

I couldn't stand it any longer. Stephane's hair was getting so long. I had trimmed it a couple of times but it was just getting unruly. When I looked at his hair this last week I just couldn't think of anything else to do. When the back wouldn't stay flat anymore and all it did was stick straight out I knew it was time. So I pulled out the clippers and away I went. He was so good and thankfully the clippers were pretty quiet so he wasn't afraid. He didn't mind getting his hair cut until I tried to get the back. I know for next time to not do it in a kitchen chair.

Before

First swipe. You can see how long it was on top by how
far my fingers are away from his head.
Isn't that a beautiful lock of hair?
Part way done.
Trying to get the back. Plus look at all the hair. Good Gravy!
All done. Aren't I a handsome boy?

What we've been up to

We haven't been doing much since Lee left a month ago but we are getting ready for school to start for Marie-Eve and her fifth birthday is just around the corner. So here are a few random pictures of the last bit.

They love to play with this hat that Stephane got for Christmas.
It has been so nice outside that after dinner we've been going outside
and eating popsicles. I love this weather.

They love sharing and tasting each others.

This is Stephane's new trick, rolling his tongue. He does it non-stop.

This is a rare moment because Stephane doesn't like to give anyone hugs.

Easter

Well, we didn't do Easter until yesterday because Grana (Lee's mom) was coming Monday morning and Marie-Eve wouldn't hear of doing anything until she got here. So we put Stephane down for his nap and we got ready. When he woke up the Easter Bunny had left a trail of candy down the stairs to the baskets and hidden eggs. It took Stephane a while to warm up since he just woke up but he eventually got it.
